Muambong Church Project

The Muambong Christian community is growing fast, to a point where it has outgrown the church built in the early seventies. When I observed this in 2007, I decided to initiate the building of a more modern and adequate house of worship (see Project doc.). The little effort I made, with the help of community labour (molded blocks, sand and gravel visible on project site), was so highly appreciated by the Bishop of Buea Diocese that he immediately submitted the project to Rome for approval. With Rome?s approval, he recently contributed 12,000,000 CFA francs to the project (see his attestation).
Thanks to the dynamism and devotion of the Baseng Parish Priest who is the Diocesan Focal Point and Manager of the Project, construction effectively started in May (see pics of 15/6/10)). However, the Diocese?s contribution is expected to finance the building only up to wall plate level; and construction should get to that level by mid-July. According to the Bishop, the Muambong community has to raise the rest of the funds. Knowing how poor our communities back home are, you can imagine on whose shoulders the responsibility lies.
I am therefore appealing to you personally as a son of Muambong to join me and the others in building God?s house. I know how committed you are elsewhere; but I also know how strong your faith in God is. So, anything you can do, anything you contribute, will be heartily appreciated, even though you are not doing it for me, but for God, our Creator, who will surely reward you abundantly.
